She has been a lawyer in New York for over a decade, having started in the office of the Queens District Attorney. Ms Robinson is highly skilled in both oral and written debate. In 2015, she started working for the state government, and in 2017, she was elevated to the post of Safety and Internal Controls Manager for the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation.
Due to her skill and achievement in her speciality, Ms Robinson was elevated to Senior Counsel in the Department of Ethnic and Women’s Business Development at the Empire State Development Corporation in 2018. She represented the Division in official affairs and provided guidance to state agencies and non-profits on problems pertaining to minority and women-owned business enterprises. Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) board members unanimously agreed to name Gretchen K. Robinson as Vice President and General Counsel at the organization’s monthly board meeting on September 5th. In an interview, Gretchen Robinson revealed that she still needs to develop the concept for the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation, a public and governmental branch of New York whose purpose is to create, manage, and maintain the island’s infrastructure.
In 1984, New York state established the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation to oversee the island’s growth and development. The corporation’s primary goal was to improve the lives of island residents and draw tourists to the area so that everyone could enjoy themselves. By overseeing public transportation, parks, structures, sporting facilities, roadways, and a public safety division, RIOC is committed to providing environmentally responsible solutions and a better living arrangement for residents on Roosevelt Island.
RIOC’s goal is to aid groups outside the government striving to improve Roosevelt Island’s image. The allocation of public-purpose money is one of how the company achieves this goal. Five members of the Roosevelt Island community with expertise in areas such as public transportation and non-profit organizations evaluate all funding applications.
