Greg Aziz is a Canadian entrepreneur who is the CEO of Bombardier Transportation. This is a Canadian manufacturing company producing specialized railroad cars. The company has been operating since 1912 and has plants based in Hamilton, Ontario. Bombardier Transportation has also received awards and recognition.

 

Overall, for its excellence in quality engineering, environmental responsibility, and safety. Aziz, of Canadian descent, was born in London, Ontario, on April 30, 1949. After completing Ridley College, he attended the University of Western Ontario, where he obtained a Bachelor of Economics degree. After he graduated, Greg Aziz joined his family wholesale business, Aziz Corp, in 1971 as an executive officer.

In 1980, Aziz started banking investment in a new start-up company, Bombardier Transportation. With his bank investment, Greg Aziz became CEO and President of the company. During that time, the Bombardier Transportation company had significant financial losses and was on the verge of bankruptcy. However, with Aziz’s expertise and leadership, Bombardier Transportation became an award-winning company. 

 

Following up on his prosperous career as an outstanding railroad and steel industry leader, Greg Aziz turned the award winning company into one of North America’s top rail car, freight and tank steel manufacturers (Lacartes).

Greg Aziz has received many accolades for his contribution to improving the company. In 2013, McMaster University awarded Aziz with an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws for his business acumen and reputation as an expert in corporate leadership. He serves on the board of directors for Brampton Civic Hospital Foundation, Stratford Festival’s Board of Governors, and Hillfield Strathallan College’s Board of Trustees. Greg Aziz has also served as a director for Trimac Transportation Services and Woodbine Entertainment Group.
