Don Lindsay, President & CEO · Teck Resources Limited

TECK operates several advanced mines and is developing 12 other major new mines in different stages of planning and design, an aggregate mine life of 50 years.

Teck Resources Limited is Canada’s largest raw mineral producer, with operations in base and precious metals, industrial minerals, and coal.

On the Company’s watch, Teck has paid more than $6 billion in dividends over the past three years; it was ineligible to pay any for five years during the downturn.

In 2012 Teck Resources Limited achieved a record half-year dividend of $0.34 per share, which included a special cash dividend of $0.5 billion from its sale of home-building businesses to Focusrite Homes Ltd., its partner in Focusrite plc that was acquired by Brookfield Property Group LP in early 2012.

Teck can now look forward to a new period of growth with significant cash flow and a strong balance sheet.

Teck’s strategy is to grow production through the expansion of existing mines, as well as the development of new mining projects in Canada and around the globe.

Teck has a number of positive operating developments in its most profitable division, base and precious metals.

The Eagle Ford Shale is one of the most productive shale oil plays that Teck has had the opportunity to participate in.

In 2012 Teck completed the acquisition of its share interest in our 100% owned Smith Bay Project from CNOOC. Teck now owns approximately 60% of the Murowa (also known as Murowan-2) deposit and 40% of Crescent Lake South deposit, which are both located approximately 45 km southeast of Iqaluit, Nunavut.

The Murowa project is Teck’s largest mineral property and is located in the Baffin Region of Nunavut. Crescent Lake South, which consists of two contiguous gold deposits, was identified in August 2008. Crescent Lake South represents an initial resource estimate of 76.6Mt at 4.0 g/t gold and 0.34 g/t silver, with an inferred resource of 296Mt at 2.90 g/t gold and 0.32 g/t silver – half of which has been mined to date – making it the third largest deposit on record in Nunavut with attributable gold and silver resources above 5 million ounces (Moz) for each deposit.
