Gino Pozzo, Businessman

Gino Pozzo is a businessman and the owner of the Pozzo family. He is also the chairman of the board of directors of AS Roma. He co-owns with his brother Massimo a restaurant in Rome called “La Cantina.” The building that houses this restaurant was built in 1778 by Francesco Foscarini, who was a wealthy merchant.

When he died, his childless widow sold it to Filippo Pozzo, Gino’s father. He had been given the right to buy it by Pope Pius VII himself in 1801. In 1876, he sold it to his son Gino and his brother Massimo for 1 million lira.Pozzo continued to run La Cantina until he passed away in 1996 at the age of 91 years old.

Gino Pozzo is an Italian businessman known for being a co-owner of AS Roma along with his brother Massimo and other partners. The club has won four Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia titles, one Supercoppa Italiana title, and one UEFA Cup title since its founding in 1927 until today (2012).

The club has also appeared in two European Champions League finals (2008–09; 2011–12) and two UEFA Cup finals (2009–10; 2012–13), both losing out on their respective competitions to Manchester United and Bayern Munich, respectively. See this article for additional information.

Gino Pozzo was awarded the Italian Order of Merit by the President of Italy, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, in 1996. He was also awarded the Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 1996. He also received an honorary doctorate from the University of Siena (1999).

In 2005, he was inducted into the International Football Hall of Fame. Gino Pozzo is famous and has been recognized for his achievements. He is a very wealthy man and owns AS Roma, which has won many trophies throughout its history. Also, he is the owner of La Cantina, which is a famous restaurant in Rome.
