Gretchen Robinson
Gretchen Robinson started her legal career in the Queens District Attorney’s Office, where she spent several years before going on to the Civilian Complaint Review Board, where she handled administrative trials in the Administrative Prosecution Unit.
Robinson was brought on by the New York City Department of Finance as a senior analyst in the Office of Tax Enforcement to work on the city’s property tax compliance program. Soon after that conceived of and created an anti-fraud tax credit program.
Robinson joined a small private practice as a civil litigator but continued to develop software for government agencies, including the Fraud Detection and Prevention unit of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services and New York City’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner.
Gretchen Robinson is the VP & General Counsel of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation. She oversees the corporate legal issues for the island, including commercial leases and novation agreements, compliance with the Uniform Commercial Code and other legislation, employment law, real estate transactions, construction contracts, procurement, and nonprofit compliance. Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation was formed in 2013 by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the Department of Finance, and Roosevelt Island Operating Company, Inc.
Robinson is an adjunct professor at New York Law School. She teaches courses on program management training for paralegals, due diligence in litigation support services, and government contracts.
Robinson is a former president of Women in Government Relations, a member of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Women in the Profession, and a member of New York Law School’s Center for Law and Business Advisory Board.
Robinson is the founder and president of Inclusive Legal Solutions, LLC, which provides legal support services to nonprofit organizations and government agencies. The company is working on an online compliance management system for New York City nonprofits.
Robinson is also a partner at Pearson, Vingoe & Goldman, P.C., a Manhattan law firm that focuses on the legal needs of social services agencies and nonprofit organizations. She previously worked at Pearson, Rothwell, and Murphy, P.C., where she focused on litigation defense of public housing residents in contract disputes with their landlords.
At graduate school, she was a director of the New York City chapter of the National Association for Women in Construction (NAWIC).
