John Majors Hailer is the Chairman and CEO of Natixis North America
John Majors Hailer is the chairman and CEO of Natixis North America, the financial subsidiary of Natixis, a global French investment bank. He was born on December 14th 1954 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
After studying economics and finance at Hamilton College in New York and completing his MBA at Yale University in 1976, John went straight to San Francisco where he joined the firm that would later become known as Charles Schwab.He is one of the world’s leading investment banks, with a main market capitalization of €99.70 billion. Former CEO at John Hailer has experience across various sectors and is considered to be the first American CEO of a major European bank.
John Hailer As a former CEO of Bank, he was a member of the executive committee, the chairman of its financial markets and the CEO of the bank. He also served as a member of the steering committee for alternative assets and as Vice Chairman for banking since 2012. In his time he built a team that brought in $120 billion in new funds and oversaw its move into investment banking after acquiring BNP Paribas’ asset management unit Avenue Capital.
John attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a BA in economics and a Master of Science in economics. He also studied at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration.
He started his career as an analyst at Lehman Brothers and then became a partner. After five years as partner, he was promoted to be president of Lehman Brothers International.John Hailer, former CEO at Natixis, worked for Banker’s Trust in New York and London. Later he joined the investment firm, Bear Stearns, where he was managing director. His talent was recognized by Chase Manhattan Corporation, where he was appointed as the senior vice president in 1/1/89. He worked there as a Managing Director till 6/30/99 before starting his career at Lehman Brothers.
