Nick Millican on Churches as Real Estate
Hundreds of churches in London have been converted into housing, but how can an old, unused church be a home? This is something that specifically concerns real estate experts According to Nick Millican, the planning needed to change a church into more of the much-needed housing.
This, for the capital dissuades many contractors from attempting conversions, but once converted, the former churches can make very good homes. Nick Millican shares that for those projects that are undergone, interior designers and others work to make them function as homes.
This, in addition to the conversions on the market today cost anywhere from hundreds of thousands of pounds and into the millions. These teams make their projects into a variety of housing types, including flats and single-family residences. Nick Millican adds that once converted, these buildings serve as homes with a unique feel to them.
Nick Millican explains some more. Those with high ceilings can transform the perception of how much space residents have to live in, and those retaining stained glass windows and decorative architecture have a built-in beauty.
There are also other perks for the former churches currently available in London’s housing market, the agent adds. In some examples, the perks come from architectural features, such as large windows which, even without stained glass, provide plentiful natural lighting. In others, the perks come from the homes’ convenient locations within the city. Finally, Nick Millican shares that other perks seen in some converted homes include built-in storage space, built-in terraces, and secured parking.
